The hospital feels like an art museum lol. Lots of paintings everywhere and then I found a stunning room by the cafe. Smells very clean, looks clean. Modern bathrooms. Thanks for looking after my uncle Phil!

Massive thanks to Abbie at the Rotary Observatory Unit last night, she was really sweet and supper attentive. She took the time to listen carefully and made me feel super comfortable and taken seriously. Also big shout to the nurses on the night shift!! 🤍 …

I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at the RUH who saved my husband’s life when he arrived in A&E with a life-threatening infection. I cannot speak highly enough of the care, compassion, and skill he received. From the remarkable expertise of the MaxFax surgeons, to the dedication of the nurses in intensive care and on the ward, and even the good humour of the porters — every single person played a part in his recovery. We are profoundly grateful.

Just been to the pain clinic for spinal nerve blocks. I never thought I would say I enjoyed having needles stuck in my back but they made it as enjoyable as they could have. The staff were so friendly and worked as a team. It was so nice to hear them thanking each other and encouraging me. Thank you to all the staff. I have never smiled and laughed so much on a hospital visit. Karen Toulson

Diagnosed with NETS Cancer Dec 2024... I'm normally fast tracked to the SAU with a blockage....I've been admitted on 3 occasions via A&E and this has always been a speedy, caring professional service. Once I was heavily sick across the trolley and floor. Staff dealt with it as if it was a daily occurrence. Thank you, all of you.

Staff could not have been nicer after I fell off a ladder and broke things. Yes you wait, but the genuine care of everyone, receptionist, porters, volunteers, nurses, doctors and the registrar is particularly notable, compared to other hospitals. THANK YOU

Attended the RUH last Sunday 10/05/26 as I had a piece of meat stuck in my throat which I couldn't dislodge. I was checked in within a few minutes and then seen within approx 10minutes. From the lovely lady who checked me in, the nurses and the ENT doctor called Veronica (different spelling on name badge) who looked after me I want to shout out about how fabulous they were in the way they dealt with the issue. Thank you so much for all you did I'm very grateful. Mairead xx

I had elective surgery for gallbladder removal on the 20th March 2026. The staff on the day surgery unit were all amazing caring and compassionate. The young man who walked me to theatre was very sweet and also pushed me to the ward after. The theatre staff were absolutely fantastic, I'm a very nervous person and they all put me at ease and held my hand until I fell to sleep. I want to thank my anethatist for keeping me safe whilst under and my surgeon for doing a amazing job removing my gallbladder which has caused me pain for years. Mathew Doe. I want to thank the wonderful nurses in recovery, Hazel, Ray and Mia. Absolutely fantastic bed side manner. And finally everyone on Charlotte ward. Karen and susie stood out to me. Susie walked me to the toilet during the night she was so patient. Wonderful people. Many thanks to all. A fantastic hospital with fantastic staff working extremely hard under the pressures.

My 92 year old mother recently had a few days in the RUH, Bath..... everyone and everything thing was good as it could be throughout. She was well looked after in A&E initially and then on C12 who took good care of her, but it was C33 who were the stand out ward in every aspect of her care. It wouldn't be fair to heap all the praise on one department as the whole system is creaking under pressure and the NHS still somehow don't let you down. A huge Thank you to all concerned.....and now we enter the unknown territory of nursing care homes.... so far so good......

EMA Patient Transport recently attended Royal United Hospital as part of a private patient wait and return appointment. The experience was very positive throughout. The hospital provides a welcoming and well-organised environment, with a clear focus on delivering high-quality patient care across a wide range of specialist services. Despite being a busy acute hospital, the appointment process was managed efficiently and the atmosphere remained calm and professional. The staff were friendly, professional and well organised, ensuring the patient felt supported throughout their visit. Communication was clear, and the handover and appointment process ran smoothly. Overall, a positive experience with a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
